Ian and Mommy Day

Saturday, I took Ian out for the day to do whatever his little heart desired, just the two of us, well and Baby Firetruck. Ian picked the Children's Museum, McDonald's, and Target. We had a great time, and it was just so wonderful to have some one-on-one time with my little man.

Here are some pics from our adventure!

Ian driving the ambulance.

My little sun, who is also my little son!

Baby Firetruck milking a cow.

Ian and Baby Firetruck putting on a puppet show. This is, btw, Ian's fake smile.

Baby Firetruck in something in the art room. I am not sure what that thing is.

Ian getting a big ole Mommy smooch!

Ian waited forever for his turn in the ambulance while other kids (some attended, some unattended, some younger, and some much older) jumped in front of him. I finally had to just haul him up in there and put him in the seat. I had no idea your kid had to be so aggressive at the Children's Museum! Later on in the day, a little girl came over and took something right out of his hands, and her mother was RIGHT there!

Which begs the question, what do you do when something like that happens? This is the second time that some kid has taken things right out of my kids' hands. I can tell you that I was furious both times!!! What I wanted to do was kick the mothers in the shins, but to quote the great Tori Amos, "I believe in peace, bitch!"

My kids don't go to daycare or preschool and are not exposed to many other kids. They are not always good at sharing with each other, but the learned a LONG time ago not to take things something out of someone's hands!

Other than that rudeness, and me completely freaking out because I thought someone stole my iPhone in McDonald's, it was an awesome day. The iPhone, btw, was in the car the whole time. I am a genius!

SUCH cute pictures....Ian is SO handsome, and you look gorgeous!

What an awesome gift.....getting to spend such precious one-on-one time with your little man!

And about other kids grabbing stuff out of their hands.....if the child is much younger than my boys....then I say to my boys that although it wasn't nice for the other child to take that out of their hands, I was proud of them for sharing and I try to find something even better to play with. But, I hope that their parent hears me.

If the child is a lot older, then I call them out on their rudeness and ask them to give it back.....if the child is the same age.....then...well, that is a hard one....I guess I hope their parent steps in, but I do acknowledge to my boys that it is rude to do that.....whew sure did not mean for my comment to be so long!!!!! That is a hard situation though.

Oh....and love the Tori Amos quite :-)
