Maddie and Mommy ready to go!

Maddie at the Children's Museum, riding a whale.

The museum has a castle with dress up clothes, two thrones, and all kinds of royal goodies. I asked Maddie if I could take her picture on the special princess chair, but she was not at all interested. Instead, she wanted to wash clothes. Sigh. Here is my lil Cinderella hard at work. I wish she washed clothes at our house!
Then she wanted to ride the train, and this ridiculously bad picture of us is the best I could capture of our train ride together.

A note about the dalmatian pup she is holding. I had planned to take a bunch of pictures of him at the museum, just like I did with Baby Firetruck on my day with Ian. However, Maddie cleverly stashed the toy away in the aforementioned castle almost as soon as we got there, and neither of us realized he was missing until we were about to leave. Thankfully, he was right where she left him, but his absence can truly be felt in the photos from the day.
I did, however, manage to procure a picture of the dalmatian pup flying over the car.
Maddie decided after all of that playing that she was hungry and ready to eat at the "fancy" restaurant. I had no idea where she wanted to go, but as we were driving down the street, she pointed out the window and said "There it is! There is the fancy restaurant!" Which turned out to be...
I have a hard time eating at restaurants with Maddie. Even though she has had Red Robin several times, and the restaurant is great about providing allergen information for the items on the menu, I still have a hard time relaxing. The server seemed a little clueless and dopey, and those two things are not good when you are entrusting that person with ensuring no peanut products come in contact with your child's food.
As it turned out, everything was fine. Maddie ate the bun off of the top of her turkey burger, and she ate tons of french fries (no seasoning!), then declared herself full and ready to go to Target!

I had a great time with Maddie on her day with Mommy. She was just so sweet and fun and chatty! We talked all day about everything.
I really need to work on calming my nerves when I take her to a restaurant. I cannot keep her sequestered at home for her entire life, and she is going to have to learn how to handle herself when she goes out to eat. I just need to figure out how to be the role model she needs me to be.
